Is that green on my thumb?

By no means would I claim to be a good gardener, but I have been completely surprised by my little apartment garden. I have always wanted a herb garden and after all of the shows that I watched on the Food Network, I thought I would give it a shot. It has been about six weeks since this garden has been established and the one thing that I can say is that fresh herbs are absolutely amazing! Here is what I started with: basil, cilantro, dill, thyme, oregano, rosemary, tomato, jalapeƱo, red bell peppers, and catnip (for the kitties). It seems like we are pulling something from the garden everyday, it is fantastic! Stay tuned for some recipes that my fiance and I have worked up!

Here are the beginning and present day pictures of my first attempt of a herb garden.

  6. Hi Mary! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I'm really impressed with your garden...it looks WAY better than mine :) I hope you enjoy the recipes I've posted--trust me, I'm almost embarrassed half the time to post recipes, because by no means am I a "master chef"! I enjoy experimenting and have learned a lot the past few months, just by playing around in the kitchen. Thank goodness for the internet, too--it's a constant resource...that or my "Martha Stewart-like" sister :) Take care and thank you again for taking the time to stop by my blog!!!!

  7. HI Mary!
Thanks for visiting my blog! I am now following your blog so I can keep up with your posts!

Your garden looks great! We planted our first garden this year, too, but being in the Northeast we were just able to get things in the ground so our stuff is nowhere as big as your's yet. I can't wait to see things grow!
